Breezy Acres Motel: Home for Wayward Hikers

It is uplifting to know that wherever you may find yourself there are people who will reach out to both assist and befriend you. One of the upbeat components of this hike has been the reaffirmation that the world is still made up of people like that. They are, in fact, the rule rather than the exception.

They may, of course, take a moment longer than in the past to get a read on you but the primary intention is to help rather than avoid.

Dennis and Nancy Willette have certainly been a perfect example of what it means to possess that wonderful quality. If I stay much longer I might as well as well sign up at the local voter registration office.

Yesterday’s progress with the dizziness was negligible. In addition I fell asleep early last night and failed to take the evening dose of vertigo medication. The result is increased dizziness today with no other symptoms which prompts at least the thought that improvement to this point have strictly been the masking of dizziness by the medication.

At this point I’m beginning to combat frustration.

  1. Looking a little gaunt there fella – take care of yourself! I can sympathize with how you are feeling (I had vestibular neuritis with vertigo a couple of times) – not fun! I just signed on to get Jed’s blog – he is a hoot! Were you friends before the hike, or did you meet him on the AT? You are absolutely right about good people – there are still a lot around – you just have to make a little effort to connect with them! Good luck with your recovery – hope to see you blogging from the AT again soon!
